Annual Conference and Trade Show

Each year the SWANA New York Chapter participates in the Solid Waste/Recycling Conference and Trade Show. The conference is jointly sponsored and organized by the Federation of New York Solid Waste Associations. The Federation is composed of the SWANA New York Chapter, the New York State Association for Reduction, Reuse and Recycling, Inc. The Conference is conducted in May at the Sagamore Resort on Lake George. It is a three-day event, lasting from Sunday evening through Wednesday lunch. It has been highly successful attracting more than 500 attendees, speakers, exhibitors, and vendors primarily from New York and neighboring states. Session topics cover every area of solid waste management. In addition to the technical content, the Conference provides attendees with recreational and networking opportunities, including a boat tour, culinary demonstration, hiking, golf tournament, horseback riding, indoor rock climbing, and a casino night.
